Ingredients
Scale
- 32 oz. cherry juice (I used R. W. Knudsen Organic Just Tart Cherry Juice)
- 4 large fresh lemons
- 1 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sparkling water
- edible glitter
Instructions
- Start out by making a simple syrup. Pour 2 cups water into a small pot and add one cup sugar.
- Heat it to a boil while stirring periodically.
- Remove from heat once it reaches a gentle boil and the sugar has dissolved. Set aside to cool.
- Roll your lemons across a hard surface to make them easier to juice. Slice each one in half.
- Squeeze and strain the juice from the lemons into a pitcher.
- Add 2 cups sparkling water to the pitcher. (You can substitute the sparkling water with filtered water if you prefer the drink to be less fizzy.)
- Pour a small amount of edible glitter onto a plate.
- Use one of the juiced lemons to moisten the rim of a glass. Dip the glass rim into the edible glitter to coat it. You can even place the glass in the freezer to chill while you are finishing the rest of the drink.
- Once the syrup has cooled, pour it into the pitcher with the lemon juice mixture.
- Combine your homemade lemonade with a bottle of cherry juice.
- Pour the cherry lemonade into the sugared glass.
Top with ice, lemon garnish, and a fun straw. Sip and enjoy!
