Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup mini m & ms
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a large bowl mix together the powdered sugar, butter and vinegar.
- Mix in the flour, ground ginger, baking soda and salt until coarse crumbs are formed.
- Using your hands knead the dough crumbs into a ball. If the dough is too dry, add in some milk or cream 1 teaspoon at a time.
- Place the ball of dough on a lightly floured surface.
- Roll the dough out 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut out Christmas tree shapes with the cookie cutter.
- Place on the prepared cookie sheet.
- Bake 8-10 minutes until lightly browned.
- Allow to cool a few minutes on the cookie sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- When the cookies have cooled, place the white chocolate chips in a Ziploc bag.
- Seal the bag tightly and place in a bowl of hot water until the chips have melted.
- Snip a tiny hole in the corner of the Ziploc bag and drizzle the chocolate over the cookies to make it look like a string of lights.
- Place candy coated chocolate bits on the drizzled chocolate.
- Allow chocolate to set before serving.
