- 1 package white cake mix
- 1 1/4 cup A&W Root Beer
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Crushed root beer flavored candy
- 1 box instant french vanilla pudding
- 4 cups whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Butter the bottom of a 9-inch by 13-inch pan.
- With an electric mixer, mix together cake mix, root beer, melted butter, and egg whites for two minutes and beat on high for an additional 30 seconds.
- Reserve 1 cup of the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter into the prepared baking pan.
- In the reserved batter, mix in the allspice and the cinnamon.
- Drop mounds of spiced batter into pan, and swirl using a toothpick.
- Bake until cake begins to separate from the sides of the pan, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 28 to 30 minutes
- While cake is baking, make French vanilla instant pudding according to package directions and set aside.
- Beat whipping cream until soft peaks form and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until consistency of whipped cream.
- Gently, fold in half of the prepared whipped cream into the pudding.
- Once cake is baked and cooled, crumble cake into tiny, almost diced, pieces.
- Sprinkle cake into the bottom of 12 glass mugs that you’ll be serving the parfaits in.
- Spoon pudding on top of crumbled cake, then add a layer of pudding, then a layer of homemade whipped cream, and then a layer of crushed root beer candy.
- Repeat until glass is full.
- Place in freezer 10 minutes before serving so dessert is served in a frosted glass.
